Most Popular Services

Deep Tissue

A deep tissue massage may improve circulation, reduce minor aches and pain, increase range of motion, and ease inflammation. According to a study in the Journal of Alternative and Complementary Medicine, deep tissue massage helped to lower blood pressure after just one session.

Hot Stone

Intensely comforting and remarkably gentle, hot stone massage is a unique pampering experience that is perfect for those who prefer a lighter massage with many of the benefits of deep tissue work.

Swedish

A Swedish massage is designed to relax the entire body by rubbing the muscles in long, gliding strokes in the direction of blood returning to the heart. But the benefits of Swedish massage go beyond relaxation. It can help increase the level of oxygen in the blood and improve circulation and flexibility.

About

Sean Mahoney has danced professionally since the age of 15, from ballet to Broadway. Dancing with The Paul Taylor Dance Company, Parsons Dance, American Repertory Ballet, and The Radio City Christmas Spectacular has given him first hand experience in to the myriad ways in which a body can move. During years of touring worldwide, he also took local body work classes, from Africa to Asia, cultivating a new passion for massage therapy. Tyr Throne, Mark Stevens, Eric Demry, Nicole Mitsch, and Jason Armstrong were some of the Therapists he trained under. Sean finally retired from the stage in 2019, and turned that passion into personalized body work by graduating Summa Cum Laude.

What People Are Saying

“I saw Sean for a full body Swedish massage. He was polite, professional, communicative and made me feel comfortable throughout. I’m a writer and a runner, and Sean quickly picked up on the problem points in my body — the ones caused by sitting at a computer for hours on end, and the ones from the jogging path. Most remarkable, however, was how much better one of my shoulders felt after the massage. I had hurt it the day before when getting up from the floor. The pain went away during the massage and never returned. Sean seemed exceptionally knowledgeable about muscles and read my body extremely well. I look forward to seeing Sean again and highly recommend his work. ”

“I felt like I just got a new body after his Swedish style massage. For dancers who are like me, it is very hard to find massage therapists who could understand how our bodies are built. Sean is a former dancer of Paul Taylor Modern Dance, it was very easy for him to understand how my body was feeling and what I needed. He gave me a Swedish style massage. He massaged from head to toe evenly in only an hour. The essential oil he used on the pillow and eye cover helped me to relax even more while he was giving me a massage. When I got out of the bed and stood up after a massage, I felt like I just got a new body. Around my neck and shoulders felt really relaxed and I was able to focus on the breathing which is really important when I dance. My hips felt much looser, it helped me to get an extra mobility to lift my legs higher. If you want to relax physically and mentally, OR if you want to get to another level of your performance, his Swedish style massage will definitely find a way for you.”

— Ryoko Tanaka, dancer

“I had the benefit of getting a massage from Sean Mahoney. After being a professional ballet dancer with American Ballet Theatre for almost 2 decades and one who now teaches many hours a week, I am both accustomed to massage and often in need of a therapeutic one. Sean easily delivered. He was thoughtful in creating a calm, safe space, offering music choice or silence as well as an opportunity to incorporate an element of aromatherapy that was new to me and I liked. (a cotton pad with essential oil of my choice "floating" in the head cradle when I was face down) Not surprisingly Sean was strong, able to release my tight muscles, but he also managed to work on my low back, hips, and quads very effectively, finding the right angles to coax my body into acceptance. I could sense his dancer's knowledge and instincts at work. Lastly, I appreciated that he was willing to chatter, be silent or a mix of both, taking the cues from me.”

— Kathleen Moore (Tovar), Former Principal Dancer with American Ballet Theatre

“I trust Sean. During and after the massage I felt seen without being looked at. He treated the massage like my body was a puzzle he could solve. Each side was treated with specific care and nothing felt generic. His knowledge of how the body functions, pressure, and the individual attention certain areas of my body needed, like my legs and hips, was exceptional. You are in the best of hands with Sean, the experience is medicinal and meditative.”
